The last 10 years has seen tremendous amount of development in
marquee technology with a whole array of structures and covers
becoming available within which to host an event.
To simplify the choice of structures Planet Pursuits has defined the
list into three categories.
Category 1 – Traditional Marquees

The marquees are usually of PVC construction and traditionally
hexagonal in shape and usually start from 9x9 meters to literally
any size. These tents are ideal for weddings, receptions, festivals,
wet weather cover and parties. Modern versions are of span aluminium
construction and have no centre poles. Older marquees have canvass
sides and centres poles with guy ropes – these are usually cheaper.
These tents have a plain PVC interior and need dressing with a
coloured lining and floor surface.
Category 2 –Theme Tents

New tent technology has allowed theme tents to be manufactured to
modern standards but with traditional interiors and exteriors. These
tend to be a more expensive option but with the obvious wow theme
factor.
Category 3 – Contemporary Structures and Covers

With new structures and covers coming onto the market all the time
it’s difficult to keep up with the technology. Large contemporary
structures tend to be at the high end of the market but the results
are stunning, however there is now a range of smaller contemporary
tents such as the Capri and 3d tents.
